Elder and Sister Smith with President Bulseco

I want to tell you about President Bulseco. President Bulseco is the 2nd Counselor in the Mission Presidency. He has served in that possition for three mission presidents. Prior to that he served as president of the Sorsogon District when that district consisted of what is now three districts -- Sorsogon, Masbate and Bulan. He is a convert to the church has has a most interesting conversion story to tell.

He was invited to read the Book of Mormon by a friend of his. As he read it the book he became convinced of its truthfulness. He sincely prayed to know that the book was God's word. As he prayed he became aware that there was an earth quake of a powerful storm going on. It was early in the morning. He ran to his wife and children to wake them up to protect them from the earth quake. They said, "what earthquake. There is no earthquake". He then understood that this was a message to him that the Book of Mormon was in very fact true. He then found the missionaries and asked to be baptised. Since then he has been a fearless servent of the Lord in the face of incredible opposition from his wife and other members of his family.

It took President Bulseco's wife a number of years and a great deal of oposition before she also joined the church. He is an amazing man. We love him very much. He is so much fun to be around.
